The October Rundown

Since I figured last month was a discovery month, I decided I’d like to do a monthly priority/goal log, so I can choose what I’d like to focus on in the month and season.

Next month, for example, will be planning holiday season events and also shopping for material items I may or may not need.

However, that’s not the focus of this post.

This October, I’d like to put a heavy focus on fitness! To be honest, I haven’t gotten my flow back since I came back from vacation. It’s been somewhat of a struggle; I feel I’ve been plateauing, and I’ve definitely lacked some motivation. It came back recently because I’d like to be somewhat more fit for Escape on Halloween. So I’m planning on going hard in the paint six days a week (no post on Sundays!) without excuse. I’d like to push past some of my PR’s (I’ve actually done better at deadlifts and bench press since last week). Additionally, I plan on doing some cardio. I KNOW. It’s a horrible idea and maybe I’m setting myself up for failure because we all know how much I hate cardio. Lastly, I need to get back into the calorie eating game. I’ve lost weight and I don’t think that’s a good thing, so I need to try to eat as healthy as possible while still finding time to eat a lot.

  1. Work out 6 days a week
  2. Cardio
  3. Eat better and eat more

I’d also like to opt out of spending money where I don’t need to, ie gas and food. I already know I have some other funds to cover, obviously, but no superfluous personal items or clothes or anything like that. I do want to update my wardrobe because it seems some of my clothes is falling apart (I lost a button the other day) and I haven’t gotten anything new in a long time. I did buy myself some shoes last month, but I also want to save my money for deals on Black Friday, so I won’t worry about it for now.

A lot of my shows are back and I forgot how emotionally invested I am. Sometimes, I miss all the raging fanboying of Tumblr, though I think I’d rather spend my time more wisely. Between working and working out, it’s hard to find time for television, but it’s always a good thing to do at the end of the day so I can just sit back and watch. I feel like I’ve been wasting time doing nothing while my shows were away, but now that the fall season is here, whenever I want to do something that’s not productive, I have TV.

I feel the need to study. Strange, yes I know. I think I’m gonna research more. Some topics of interest:

  • Buddhism
  • Conservation
  • Earth and space things

I don’t really have anything new I want to try this month, so I think I shall spend my weekends more relaxed. However, I’d also like to say that I’m trying to outwardly show appreciation more because I don’t think people realize how much I love them. Sure, I’m an asshole a lot of the time, and I joke a lot, and I don’t really express myself very well in person, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love my friends and family. I just hope that I can better show it. So first, I shall start by greeting everyone with enthusiasm. Second, I will respond to all texts in a timely manner, even if it’s a “no thanks, I don’t want to do that, [but thanks of thinking of me when you were inviting people]”. Third, more compliments (I will TRY not making them explicitly sexual and wink at people (even though it’s really funny)). Fourth, hugs for all! We’ll see how this goes over.

In conclusion, for October, I would like to

  1. emphasize exercise and nutrition
  2. save money
  3. enjoy TV as downtime
  4. study: Buddhism, conservation, Earth, space
  5. show appreciation
  6. figure out life
