The Home Alone Saga #2

I feel like Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun” is quite an apposite theme song for these couple of weeks.

Yesterday, I pretty much survived on leftovers and frozen foods (which is and will be typical for most of this saga). But today, I decided to make fried rice. It turned out pretty good. Fried rice is one of those dishes that’s hard to get wrong and it’s a fun one because I like the cooking style of just throwing random foods into a pot and stirring. It works nicely. I’m also thinking ahead and trying to plan what meals I want to cook for the week. Can’t get too fancy this week because I want to spend my free time studying.

I had a laptop scare because it blue-screened but I think she’s okay for now.I think it’s just overheating, but I think I’ve streamed so much media these past two years that I can’t do it anymore. Too scared to try again, but I’ll keep y’all posted. Had to go into Safe Mode, which I was gonna be okay with if my laptop decided not to work regularly because I can access all my docs, but then sound doesn’t work in Safe Mode and I was about to flip my shit.

Also, all the lights outside our house decided to die at the same time so everything was dark and it may be some kind of conspiracy and I may get robbed and die. Fortunately, I was able to change them after some direction from my dad (They’re more complicated than regular lights okay? (How many Btabs does it take to change a lightbulb?)). Not that I wouldn’t have had to change them if my mom was still here, but still…I felt adult. I put my hands in some gnarly webs and a bunch of spiders fell on me, so that was not so Raven.

I sang at the top of my lungs last night, which is not something I can normally do. Usually, when Mom’s out, I’m singing and dancing naked around the house anyway, but this time, it’s like I don’t have to listen for her coming home. Ah, nude freedom: the greatest freedom…

Also, Mom told me  that I should have a party while she’s gone, but little does she know I’m too busy studying hehehe…

I have a lot of things I want to try and have started a list. Definitely need to go grocery shopping. AND STILL collecting all the recipe recommendations! ProTip: cooking to 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s music on Pandora is pretty great.
