The Home Alone Saga #1

Home Alone! AHHHHHH

Home Alone! AHHHHHH

Early this morning, I dropped off my mom at the airport and subsequently went home and knocked out for the first hours of being home alone. For the next two weeks, she will be in the Pacific Northwest visiting my dad and sister while I stay home and grow into an independent man. Just kidding about the last part, but I did just watch Boyhood.

Now, now, I know all you people living on your own may scoff, but I’ve never lived [truly] alone before. And it’s not just on-my-own-in-an-apartment-with-roommates, it’s more of a tending-to-the-house alone. So wish me luck that I hopefully do not die.

Here, I shall chronicle the hopefully-interesting next fourteen days. This week will be a bit slow because I’m studying for the GRE, which I will take next Sunday. Also, I’m trying to save money this month since buying said test has bankrupt me. I shall spend the rest of the day studying and generally getting distracted by the Internet, so it’ll be a pretty regular day.

But this begs the question: what do people do when they live on their own? Watch a lot of porn and masturbate at all hours of the day? That’s all I can think of. No, but I do want to try cooking a shit-ton of food, so send your recipe recommendations my way (and other general life-living recommendations too). Thanks!

  1. Chipotle Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo (doing this from memory lol and I eyeball everything…)

You can substitute with seafood or whatever you like

    -8 oz of sliced mushrooms
-1/2 pint of heavy whipping cream
    -Garlic salt
    -2 tbsp of Chopped Onion
    -1 tbsp of Minced garlic
-Original recipe wants to use a lot of butter but I use like maybe 2 tbsp of it or less
-Whatever amount of meat you want
    -Black Pepper
    -a package of pasta
-a small can of chipotle in adobo sauce
-shredded parmesan cheese or whatever cheese you want

    1. butter the pan and cook the onion/garlic. Once the onion is kinda clear and the garlic is golden brown, you add the meat.
    2. Sprinkle some pepper and/or garlic salt on them. (your choice if you wanna dry rub the meat for a day or two for good flavor)
    3. Toss in the mushrooms.
    4. Once meat is fully cooked, dump in the heavy whipping creme slowly on medium-high heat.
    5. It should smell more like alfredo now, and then add as much cheese as you want to make it creamy.
    6. Boil dat pasta and then either mix them together or pour sauce onto the pasta.
    7. Take out some chipotle and like slice it up or cut it up with scissors/knife. Put as much as desired onto the pasta and mix it up with your choice amount of adobo sauce.

Let me tell you this shit is the bomb and I love making it xD. More recipes soon
