The Revisited Past

The "I think it's time for a long nap" face.

Kathy has a still-usable VHS player, so we got to watch Tron at her house. I wasn’t really sure what to expect (I always say this, don’t I? It’s because I’m just keeping an open mind) because I heard many things about it and how it was back then and all the hype around the new movie coming out and the awesome panel at Comic Con and such. The first thing I heard about Tron was in Kingdom Hearts 2, and I had no idea what it was. But it turned out to be a pretty good movie! If you look past the effects, it’s a very interesting story and a unique way to personify such things. Can’t wait to see Legacy. And after…looking at Christmas lights and dead Santas, listening to music and sitting around in the car, and of course, to Alan’s house to play Wii for a little. And more nice talking into the wee hours of the morning. I look forward to times like that, and thankfully, I wasn’t tired at all. They’re rare occasions, so I like to take advantage of them. Sigh.

But back home to sleep for four hours before I actually (FOR REAL) woke up to go to the gym. I don’t know why I actually woke up, because all logic was telling me that I wouldn’t get up because I usually don’t get up until really late if I stay up late (it’s a linear relationship). But I did anyway. It might have been because I’ve been wanting to work out for a while and I just needed to start it up again. And dang, I haven’t worked out in a while. I forgot a lot of my routine. Grr. And then those 50 calories I burned on the elliptical were re-gained with panqueques and tater tots at Ryan’s. I found it out– I like pancakes with whipped cream, because it makes them taste like waffles! And of course, we went back to Alan’s to spend the better part of the afternoon beating another Mario world. There’s one left.

After I went home, I remember I actually had stuff to do, so I stopped by Target, the 99 cents store, and then the bank. I haven’t stepped foot in a 99 cents store in a long time, and they’re just as (excuse this uppity tone) dingy and ghetto as always. Did you know everything is 99.99 cents there? Tricky. I don’t know if they’re stuff is quality, but they were selling 20-count balloons for 99 cents. And then next to those were 25-count balloons. Some bags looked exactly the same except for the 25 instead of the 20. So it made me skeptical. But I got what I wanted, so hopefully, I’ll never have to go back to that place.

Lastly, I have finished all 73 Monster Rancher episodes. I probably haven’t seen a good 63 of those episodes and so it was all good to reminisce and remember a lot of stuff from the games and make my childhood get all giddy inside. Now I have nothing.
