The Longest Day

The "I caught a...Lugia!" face.

What a slow day. I may actually  start studying today. It’s not like there’s anything else to do. I’ve never really officially had one of these days where I don’t have a lot of class, don’t have any homework to work on ahead of time, and have literally nothing to do. Oh dorming, making me trapped inside this room with no videogames to play…

I did finally finish watch Batman: The Animated Series and Batman & Robin (Volumes I, II, III of the DVDs). They were so good! The characters, the stories, the writing (well, it was a tad cheesy), and the depth of everything was nice. I will soon move on to The New Batman Adventures (with a Nightwing, Batgirl, and the new Robin) with smoother animation. It’s sad though, they look so different. So I think I’ve only ever seen the first season of BTAS on television and have never seen anything until Batman Beyond and then a little of The Batman. I plan to somehow find The Batman online too so I can finish watching it. After that, the Brave and the Bold just looks like poo. Anyway, I just find it weird that this was a child’s cartoon show. I mean, I watched it and all, but I never really understood all the nuances, jokes, or allusions to other stuff. It’s very interesting and well-written. A classic.

So Final Fantasy shipped early this morning and I got my $10 promotion and quickly ordered Pokemon. I was thinking…should I resist and not play Final Fantasy over Spring Break? It will definitely be tough to do. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to manage, but hopefully, I’ll be busy with other stuff and games to not need to play (yes, I really want to). At the same time, it wouldn’t hurt to unwrap it, smell it, look in the little booklet, insert the disc into my PS3, look at the title menu, and then start a new game would it?

Before I forget, here are my impressions so far. It looks amazing, obviously. As for the storyline, it looks quite emotional and intriguing (though I did get teary-eyed in X-2 haha). As in, I actually want to find out what happens with these mysterious characters. With all this talk about how veterans of FF will not like it because it’s so different, I say we should all embrace the new changes that have occurred. Who knows, perhaps it’s for the better. I guess the only thing that’s a downer for me is that you don’t get to buy a lot of stuff and have a whole bunch of gil and wear all this customizable equipment and stuff. But still, I don’t really mind that there’s no town, that it’s linear, and all that other mumbo jumbo that people are complaining about. I just can’t wait to play and become immersed in a game- a feeling of which I haven’t felt in a longass time. Yes, I have high hopes for this game, but at the same time, I know I’ll love it.

As for Pokemon, that’s a no-brainer. I will enjoy everything about it even if it’s radically different from the original. Just having a game to play on DS that I can spend hundreds of hours on (yes, I plan on catching them all– all of Kanto and Johto originals, that is). Naming my character, getting my dream team together, and getting 16 badges? Sounds so fun! Also, I cannot wait for the Pokewalker– tres stylish, no?

And now I just remembered, maybe I should have started my drawing!
