The Ticket Enforcer

The "It's too early, but late" face.

So, I had to wake up early today to get to school. I haven’t woken up before 10 in so long. Waking up early means a few things. I get hungry, so naturally, I will eat breakfast. I haven’t done this in a while, but you know, the milk will expire, so it’s important. There’s also nothing to do but wait for class. I usually don’t wake up until around 10:30 on days like this because I just get ready, go eat, and go to class. No dilly-dallying. But if I go to sleep again, then I won’t wake up or I’ll be groggy and tired. Naps do not work for me. I may also be tired later in the day, which is bad since I will probably have to write my essay today. It doesn’t always happen, but I have a feeling I didn’t get too much sleep, granted it was “enough”, by normal standards. At the same time, I’m glad I’m up early because it makes me feel better to know that I’m not sleeping half the day.

Now, I am watching a ticket enforcer person walking around the parking lot, car to car. Gosh, what a boring job. But it sounds cool. I don’t even know if that’s what it’s called- the person that checks if you have a valid pass to be parked there. But that’s what I would call it to make people want to be it. Someone has to do it!

I guess I shall mention these here, since I have another hour to do nothing. Over the weekend, or on Thursday until yesterday, I saw The Box, Pineapple Express, The Men Who Stare At Goats, Couples Retreat, and The Blind Side.

All were gratuitously mediocre to disgustingly atrocious.

On Thursday night, I think, my roommates and I somehow decided not to sleep and pull an all-nighter, as well as randomly watch the Box. I can’t trace exactly why this movie was chosen, but I did want to know the outcome. I was warned it would suck, and lo-and-behold, it did! I did not get it. Well, I got  the message, but not until my roommate explained it to me. And so we couldn’t sleep and went to Del Taco at 5 a.m. and then watched Pineapple Express. I guess this is where I got tired or bored, but I fell asleep in the middle of it. It wasn’t too funny, though I never found stoner comedy to my liking much anyway.

On Friday, I watched The Men Who Stare At Goats. I didn’t really know what was going on. At all. I guess it was because I wasn’t paying attention, but that was attributed to the fact that it was so boring. I fell asleep here also. But that may have been because I didn’t get sleep on Thursday night. But no excuses! The movie sucked. I dislike George Clooney, but he was the only mildly funny thing about this movie.

On Saturday, I watched Couples Retreat. God, Jason Bateman is unhilarious in all aspects of his acting career. Jon Favreau is also noncomedic. The only good stuff was anything with Malin Ackerman, Kristen Bell, and of course, Ken Jeong (though he seemed not in character in this movie). Other than that, the plot sucked, the acting sucked, the plot sucked, and the acting sucked.

On Sunday, I watched the Blind Side in hopes of a more promising movie for the weekend of rest. It was good, but it seemed inaccurate on most accounts. Sandra Bullock did a good job, but I’m biased because I met her. This was a mostly forgettable movie.

That’s what I did for the weekend, with Batman: The Animated Series Volume 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum scattered throughout. Good times.
